Here are three pieces of the best advice: declutter, organize and rejoice. Everyday is the proper time to organize your life and clear clutter. When this is done day by day, you will rejoice for your life remains peaceful and serene. Declutter and organize is a tall order and you have to make use of guidelines and tips to do it. Here are great decluttering tips:
- Take time to declutter the mess in your home at least 15 minutes a day.
- Things or stuff that do not belong in the house must be taken out.
- Create a chart to map the days when you are scheduled to declutter at least three times a week.
- When cleaning a room, start at the door corner.
- Tidy up the kitchen while waiting for the kettle to boil.
- Follow the one in and two out rule: when you bring a new article in the house be sure to dispose of two.
- Have a small storage space for a bigger one will encourage you to have more articles to store.
- Follow this rule: when you haven't used an item within six months, it is time to donate or sell it.
- Declutter a room one after another.
- Keep a list of items you need and items you do not need. Then follow this list in disposing of things you don't need.
- Internalize the value of keeping things. Hoarding is not one of them.
- Ask someone reliable to help you get rid of some of your things. Another person will be objective for he does not have any emotional attachment to them.
- Good books you have read will make a great gift. You can recycle them.
- Use color coding to organize things belonging to each family member. Assign one color to the family member; so he will have a green toothbrush, green towel, and others.
- Use buckets to place office supplies and other small items. So you will know where they are kept and where to find them.
- To clarify your instructions, download and print to use as reminders.
- Evaluate your organizing system, delete the ineffective ones and improve the effective ones.
- Use a filing system: what to do, what to pay, what to file and pending.
- Make a map in your garage showing the proper place to stow things.
- Have a box to place things that can be recycled.
- Place a set of linens inside the matching pillow case to facilitate looking for them.
- Organize your computer.
- Stop collecting.
- Utilize spaces under the bed and other furniture to store things that you will need.
- Rethink the decision to donate things rather than having a garage sale.
- A zip mesh bag is the best place to keep small easy to lose items.
Declutter and organize are important parts of your life. Once you have declutter and organize yourself, your home, and your things, you will have peace and serenity and it is time for you to rejoice.
