Your Home Can be Clutter Free

It would be heavenly to come home and see that everything inside is spic and span. But you can only fantasize for the reality is a cluttered and messy place. Your home can be clutter free for there are tips to follow or you can refer to reduce clutter information that is available.

The most important step is to survey the whole place to appraise their condition. Then follow these tips:

1. The living room, where you entertain guests or the place to bond with your family, must be clutter-free. Do not let it overflow with furniture and decorations. Organize and declutter:

Donate or throw away magazines and books that are spilling out from your bookcase. Keep the books you want to read again and dispose of the rest.
Select VHS, DVD, and CD tapes you want to keep. Give away or dispose the rest.
Organize your closet; the upper shelves are for hats and gloves and the lower or the floor areas are for shoes and boots. Reserve a space for your guests' things.

2. The dining room must be a clutter-free eating space. Here are more tips:

To avoid putting unnecessary things on the table; set your table with a nice table cloth then place your dish and silverware in its proper place.

If you need to use table for scrapbooking or other projects, use a file cart or box to put projects in. But 40 minutes before mealtime, return all items to the cart.
Have designated drawers for each family member to keep their things. There should be a container to place rubber bands, bag ties, candle lighter and twist ties from grocery items.
Place your keys where you can safely retrieve them.

3. Your bedroom is a haven for rest not for work or other activities. Only things related to sleep must be found inside, as your bed, dresser, night table, lamp and chair or divan. Your night table holds only your eye glasses, book or magazine and tissue papers.

4. Tips to have a clutter-free kitchen:

Items needed daily as toaster, coffee maker, essential cookware and crocks of utensils are placed within arm's reach, in the best location available.
Set limits to the number of items you really need. For valuable glasses and dishware, store them in a safe place until needed. Extra items that are useful, you can either donate, give away or have a garage sale. Throw away all broken and stained items.

Clean the kitchen counter thoroughly and return only the items you need daily.

If you have adequate space, you can display decorative articles.
Placing articles on the wall is a space saver.
Clean the door of your fridge by eliminating the magnet. Keep only a few and move all to one side. Keep important papers, memos, recipe inside separated plastic envelopes or binders. Have plastic folders to keep the drawings of your children for posterity.

5. Maintain the cleanliness of your bathroom. Clear out from medicine cabinet all expired medicine, empty bottles of lotion, perfume, nail polish. Clean bathroom counters and use wall space to store soap dish, shampoos and toothbrush holders.
